Author Motorola E815 and weird key behaviour ...

- Just got my moto e815 (from Bell Mobility) before Xmas.
- Everything was working fine for about a week.
- I do have an issue with not being able to input an uppercase letter in the
password screen of MSN chat, but that was not a big issue.
- The battery is still getting formed I guess and does not have full
capacity yet. It was complaining about being low, and I didn't have my AC
charger with me so I plugged it into the car charger, in the car, parked
outside my friend's place. The temperature in the car was about +2 C (36 F)
.... and should be no factor ... I would think.
- in due course it charged, I took it inside and had it in my shirt pocked
for an hour or so. I then tried to use the cursor key to start up the web
browser and it did noting. Nor did the Menu key, nor did the Contacts key.
The Recent key sort of worked ... but not really.
- I phoned Motorola's 1-800 number and I was walked trough removing the
battery, putting it back in ... and trying a Master Reset. The E815 kept
hopping back to the Home Screen. The HelpDesk person said I may have to
take the phone into the store ,as this was unusual.
- Later on my own, I finally was able to do the battery in-out thing and get
to the Master Reset ... but it would not accept the last four digits of my
tel. no. as the reset code. I phoned a Bell World store near my friend's
place and they said that they might be able to try the code if I brought it
in.
- I took it in and they could not get the menu key to work ... even after
battery in-out. They said I could get a replacement if I brought in all box,
wrapping and documentation within 30days of purchase.
- When I got home the phone worked fine ... and is doing so still ... ???!!!

Suggestions ?

Thanks !!
