Question about connecting to Inet with Toshiba VM4050

First let me apoligize for crossposting but I am hoping I might find someone
who can help me. I purchased the cable to connect my Toshiba VM4050 to my
laptop. I use SprintPCS. I have a couple of questions.

1. I installed and signed up for an AOL count to use when I am in transit,
how do I connect through my cell phone? The Cell phone is connected to the
laptop through a data cable.

2. How do I synch my phone to my Laptop? I would like to be able to transfer
ringtones, screensavers, etc.

3. Is there are free Cell PIM other than BitPim that works with a Toshiba
VM4050?
