LG C1500 battery life

I have two of the LG C1500 flip phones (free with renewal) that seem to have
a very short battery life. The Cingular site says about 9 days standby. I
am lucky to get 3 days life if I do not make or receive any calls .

Are others getting this results are do the batteries last longer ? The
other phones I have used seem to go about a week if no calls are made.
I have noticed the back light will sometimes glow very dim with the phone
closed. Most of the time the dim display light is off.
