Howdy,

I am considering using a belt holster for my cell phone that
has magnetic catch.

Is there any problem having the phone bathed in a magnetic
field?

Thanks,

Nope.

A magnetic field strong enough to affect your cell phone, or any modern
solid state electronics, would yank it clean off your body, along with keys
and such. An MRI machine can do it, and even that doesn't seem to damage
the electronic gizmos around it.

This is an urban legend, a kind of carry-over from older mechanical watches,
floppy disks, and video/audio tapes, which could be damaged by fairly weak
magnetic fields.
