The door is still wide open on this one.
Cingular service here in Sarasota, FL is poor to bad in MANY locations.
They seem to try to fix all; also saying that their acquisition of AT&T,
tower changes (new ones due to shorter range of GSM over TDMA) will be
finished anywhere between next year ('06) and some time in the future.
My old TDMA system worked perfectly. Changed, "upgraded" to have a smaller
phone, one with better battery life, etc. Result: forced to use GSM.
I am disappointed in how they treat their clients, us who pay their
salaries, how they respect their own contracts. Recently they dumped part
of their plan that permitted moving 'n' rollover minutes from one contract
to a change in said contract. Meaning, as you may know, if one has a 1,000
minute contract and has accummulated 2,000 rollover minutes, if that person
moves down to 500 minutes (to use up part of the accummulated 2,000
minutes), all that she can take with her is 500 (of the 2000) minutes. Move
to a 300 minute plan: only 300 of the 2000 go along. The balance is thrown
away, $s out the window.
These out the window $s feed Cingular's Bottom Line and management salaries.
They have absolutely NO respect for their client base.
This is not "advice" as you requested but pure experience.
