Author Repairing an old Nokia

Someone's sprayed fine oil on a mobile phone and now it works, but does
not pick up any sound. Not sure if the lubricant has damaged the
phone's electrics or the microphone.

Its an older Nokia. Any clues on how to fix this appreciated.
