Panasonic NiMH Cordless Phone Battery Question

| Hello,
I just purchased a new NiMH battery for my Panasonic cordless. I have a
question regarding proper charging:
1) When the phone is fully charged, can I still leave it on the
charging stand or should I take it off? If no, should I let the phone
COMPLETELY discharge until I place it on to charge?
Thanks!

| Does anyone out there have an answer? I'd really appreciate a response.

For maximum life, don't routinely leave it charging longer than
necessary, and don't routinely discharge it fully.
Make an exception about once per month. Leave it charge
overnight then. It probably consists of multiple (slightly
unequal) cells, and a slow overcharge will ensure that they're
equalised to a known fully-charged state.
Likewise the monthly full discharge will minimize the "voltage
depression" effect which can show up as loss of capacity.
I'd do the overnight charge prior to the complete discharge.
