Yes, get the TF and headset. I use it constantly for a MP3 player. It
even sounds great through the speaker without the headset.

Yes, sound is good, I would say. I have not created any playlists or
anything. Battery power may be an issue if you play a lot. I guess spare
Li-Ion batteries are for sale on eBay ?
