Author http://prepaiduswireless.com/ is online--Compares Prepaid Wireless Plans

This is a non-commercial site that compares prepaid cellular plans in terms
of cost, coverage, and features. There are seventeen plans that are
profiled. Many people may not be aware of the lesser-known prepaid services
from companies like Locus Mobile, Net10, and Beyond Wireless, but these
plans are often much better than the well known plans such as those from
Tracfone, or from the carriers themselves.

Comments and corrections are welcome.

It's not just you! Locus offers a slew of different plans, with different
pricing options. I didn't even list all of them. The reason why I have four
scenarios of calling patterns, and the total price for each one, is that the
pricing of the prepaid plans is often very complex, with some plans charging
a fee for every day you make a call, or a connect fee per call, or charging
the first x minutes per day at a higher rate, or the first x minutes per
call at a higher rate (not to mention the minimums that some plans impose in
terms of how much time you must buy each month).

Hmmm it's only valid for one single country!

Isn't this an international group?

It's visitors to the U.S. that will benefit from this site as well. The U.S.
is an anomaly, in that you can't just go buy a cheap SIM card for your GSM
phone, and make both domestic and international calls at low rates.

The fact that the U.S. has five different, and incompatible technologies
(some phones support multiple technologies) complicates things as well,
especially because of the disparity in coverage. Someone travelling to
Alaska would be mighty upset with a GSM or iDEN phone since there is almost
no GSM coverage, and no iDEN coverage, yet TDMA and AMPS are as pervasive
as the lower 48, and CDMA is catching up with TDMA.

Check where it's cross-posted! Most of the groups it's posted to are
US mobile operators.

http://www.prepaidgsm.net has been mentioned in the thread. That is
international in scope.

I hope that means nobody posts any questions or comments here about, for
instance, Turkcell. From now on, only posts about Iridium and
Intelsat-related web sites will be accepted.
