Author Replacing lost phone...

Had a phone misplaced over the weekend. Looking for an inexpensive
option for replacing it, but most good "deals" come out of rebates when
signing up for the phone plan.
I'm still sitting on another year of a contract under sprintpcs so I
don't have this option (guess I should have purchased the replacement
insurance) so I'm considering buying used, refurbed or however else they
get them from ebay, but this has it's built in risks.
Any other options anyone here may be able to recommend?

regards,
Karl
