You might as well ask how the reception is on Mars. Reception varies
by where you are. Asking how reception is in X city is silly. All
sorts of factors come into play. It makes sense to ask how is
reception in X part of a town or city. Asking how it is in a city
doesn't make sense. If a service didn't work at all why would a
carrier even advertise their services in that area? No one would buy
if it wasn't usable in that area.

Still won't tell him how reception is in Sacramento. That's about as
vague as you can get.

It's not an unreasonable request, actually. Ask me how the reception is in
Apple Valley, and I can tell you that it's good in town, but as you come
east towards the town line you'll eventually hit the end of coverage, unless
you're on a major highway.
For larger cities, it would be helpful (and sometimes necessary) to specify
which part of the city.

Absolutely. Im my neighborhood, I'm lucky if I get 2 bars.
Yesterday, it was down to 1, and breaking up badly. If Ieave and
drive a half mile in any direction, then the signal strength is
excellent.=20

I had T-Mobile in Sunnyvale, CA. It sucked. So if you asked how
T-Mobile was in Sunnyvale, I'd say it sucked.

That's because Sunnyvale is at a hellmouth. I saw it on Buffy so it
must be so.
