Author Which provider to use....

I want to get my mother a cell phone so she can make free or cheap
calls directly thru Jajah. Jajah works by connecting callers through
their own fiber optic lines, but the last mile, they place a local
call to the two phones through the regular phone lines or from a
cellphone tower. Therefore you don't need special equipment as with
Skype.

The question:
Given the fact that you have to receive lots of local calls, which
would be the most efficient / least expensive provider, and which
plan, to do this? From the viewpoint of the phone provider, she will
in effect receive lots of local calls, but place few local or long
dist. calls. Her long distance talking will be invisible to them.

See www.jajah.com for more on how it works.

Also wondering which phone to get. At the jajah site they list which
cell phones work. Some of them require a Java applet and others do it
using the Symbian OS to connect to Jajah. Which phone would be best
with which provider?

Cheers
Juv.
