Alternately, one could argue:

A: Because you already just read the question in the last post or two
(or three!)

Top posting, IMO, is a style choice based on the situation.

While I'm not personally a big fan of it, I hate it FAR less than
bottom posting without ANY trimming. If I'm following a thread I
don't need to see every byte of it again and again in every single
post in the thread.
