Author Location Based Service for CDMA/Verizon phone?

I have a new Verizon phone - LG VX-6100, and would really love to use it
to aid me with driving directions. Verizon's Get It Now service does not
yet show an application to offer LBS. When will Verizon do so, or does
any other LBS offer a service which can work for me?

Thank you.

Are you looking to use your phone as a GPS unit with directions? If
so, I don't believe there is anything
out there currently for VZW phones.

However, there are a couple GIN apps that will provide assitance with
driving directions.

MapQuest Mobile and NAVITIME both offer directions. They also both
offer a free trial.

NAVITIME has a feature that will allow you to retrieve your location,
which makes it sound
like it could use the GPS feature of the phone to plot your location.
However, I have been
unsuccessful in getting this to work with my VX-7000.

IMHO

It is not LBS but you can get directions using the WAP browser and going to:
http://wap.switchboard.com/wml/index.asp?uid=

There are free wap access portals available so you do not have to use VZW
paid service.
