IMAP email on Nokia 6230i - garbled messages

When I retrieve messages from my IMAP box on this new Nokia 6230i, they are
garbled. Specifically, there are snippets of the IMAP transaction (commands
and server responses) instead of the message body.

Headers (at least subject, sender, and date) are received accurately.

Has anyone else seen this?

I looked at Reqwireless' EmailViewer as an alternative but it doesn't seem
to save messages for offline viewing. This isn't great for me as I am not on
an unlimited data plan (and may want to look at old messages when I have no
cell signal).

Are there other programs that both (A) work and (B) save at least a few
messages? I have a 64M card, surely that's gotta be useful for something.
