ValueFirst signs up with a leading lube-oil and a mattress company to
help them check fake sale

ValueFirst, one of the largest Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO)
of data services is now helping brands prevent fake sale by using SMS
as a medium to prevent fraud. It recently signed up with a leading
lube-oil company and a leading brand of mattresses in India.

Sale of fake goods is a serious problem in some economies like India
and China and some of the brands are having a tough time to cope up
with it. According to one estimate around 50% of the Kanch silk sarees
sold in India are fake. Sale of fake mineral water is another big
issue in India and it not only leads to loss of sale for the brand,
but also health problems and tarnished brand image.

Some of the companies are now using the mobile technology to get rid
of the issue. ValueFirst is helping these clients to design a solution
which uses a pre-defined SMS from the end-consumer as a medium to
verify the authenticity of the goods purchased.

The solution has already been deployed for two clients and they have
realized a significant reduction in sale of fake goods by being able
to take corrective action on finding the fake good. ValueFirst
believes that proper use of technology along with education to the
consumers can reduce the sale of fake goods considerably.
