Author How to tel which carrier based on three digit prefix?

Hi, all.

Is there an easy way to tell which carrier a cell phone is from, based
on the phone number?

For example, my number starts with area code 780 number 905-xxxx and
that means I'm with Rogers.

Is there a downloadable cross reference or a web site that will
translate area code and prefix into carrier?

With number portability in the US, this is now impossible. You can
have a number originally issued on McGraw transferred to Verizon or
Sprint, then to land line.

If the number was ported from one carrier to another then the
information will be incorrect.

easiest way is to find the communications regulator of the country and then
find the number allocation for the country.

Yes, I know that, but one first has to know what country OP is talking
about!
