Hi.

Is there a way to start an application automatically on some device by
sending some kind of a message to the device over Bluetooth?

What devide in particular? I use a free app called Romeo which controls
various aspects of Mac OS X- for example, opening itunes, controlling
the DVD player, and moving the cursor around and clicking. Controlling
the cursor means you can do almost anything, but it would be
time-consuming. There are no doubt applications available that are
customisable.

Ok, maybe the question was a bit too general. The Romeo application
actually seemed quite interesting. I also found that there is a
somewhat similar application called Bemused for Windows operating
system. These applications let you control the desktop computer from
your mobile phone over Bluetooth. What I initially had in mind was
actually the other way around. That is, can one start an application on
a mobile phone by sending some kind of message to it over Bluetooth
from a desktop computer or from another mobile phone?
