I have a Motorola H500 Bluetooth headset which I use with my V3 Razr. I am
not happy with this headset as the earphone speaker is very quiet even at
full volume, and my callers find me quiet unless I am speaking very loud.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a better bluetooth headset? Is there
any risk of using a non-motorola headset with the V3?

I had the same issues with my V3 & HS850. Fixed it with some mods. Go here

There is no problem using non-Motorola, Bluetooth is a pan-manufacturer's
standard.
I also have a V3 Razer and I'd recommend the Lazer XS2 clip-on headset -
rather than the usual large, clumsy earpiece, the main unit clips on
shirt/lapel leaving only a lightweight earpiece and hanging mike on a short
lead in the style of many fixed headsets - gives the best of both worlds.
It's been the easiest to pair and find automatically with my Motorola V3,
gives full Voice Dialling functionality and allows easy volume adjustment,
since the controls are on the lapel mount where you can see them, not stuck
by your lughole. Clip-on unit also incorporates a neat magnetic earpiece
parking facility. Also comes with a selection of interchangeable matching
colour panels and ear covers. I am told by those I call that the repro
their end is exceptionally good, one wouldn't believe I was driving my car
at the time I called since there was no background noise at all. Available
from larger Tesco's, about 35 squids.

if your skilled with tweaking stuff you can go into the v3s firmware and
turn up the gain on the bluetooth headset.. it works wonders..
i think the H500 is the best motorola headset made yet.. the H700 would
probably be my next purchase.
