Bluetooth ActiveSync to Thinkpad
|
|
|
| I have a new h6315 and am trying to configure Bluetooth to ActiveSync
to my Bluetooth-equipped Thinkpad T40. The T40 has the IBM Bluetooth
installed, NOT the Microsoft package. Using Activesync 3.8.0 build
5004.
I have successfully configured the following Bluetooth connections:
1. T40 BT -> BT Audio headset
2. T40 BT -> BT Ipaq Dial Up Networking
3. Ipaq BT -> BT Audio headset
ActiveSync works properly with the USB cradle so I know the ActiveSync
is working and I know the Bluetooth on both machines is working.
However I am unable to get the Activesync working.
I've searched the web and found a number of configuration papers on the
topic but none of them lead to a successful connection. I am
OCCASIONALLY able to get the AS on the T40 end to show "Connecting" but
nothing else happens and the sync eventually times out.
Two T40 COM ports are assigned, COM5 and COM7. In the T40 Bluetooth
Configuration, Local Services/ActiveSync is assigned to COM7 and in
Client Services/Bluetooth Serial is assigned to COM5.
In the T40 ActiveSync/Connection Settings/Allow Serial ... if COM5 is
selected the Ipaq shows the Inbound Connection/Bluetooth Serial is
active, Outbound Connection shows nothing and the T40 ActiveSync shows
Connecting ... But nothing happens and the AS eventually times out.
Can anyone guide me as to what is wrong?
