answer phone with bluetooth headset

| A friend of mine with a physical disability that prevents him from
reaching his ears with his hands recently bought Verizon's XV6700 and
found out that he can't answer his phone while wearing his bluetooth
headset.
Does anybody know of a hack (registry or anything else) that would
allow him to answer his phone via the phone's Talk button while still
utilizing his bluetooth headset??
Thanks!

The Motorola V551 might be different, but If I have the Bluetooth enabled,
and might answer the call by pressing on the earpiece, I can also answer
the call on the handset as normal, except that there is no audio at the
handset. I can press the menu button at any time during a call and select
"use headset" or "use handset".
But that's a different description than your friend has. I can always
answer the call by pressing the handset, and have audio at the headset.
Is this some "timeout" issue, where the Bluetooth headset is not enabled or
turned on at all? How does he initially enable and fit the headset?

You don't mention the type of phone he has from verizon but I do know
that with Motorola there is an auto answer option in the phone menu
options. Read the manual that came with the phone to see if your
particular phone has auto answer option. You might need to change
phones that would seem to be your easiest answer.

| Hi ...
I have a motorola v710.
As with most phones I know, there is the auto-answer feature.
My phone is in my pocket, and the bt-headset on the ear. When it
rings, usually 2 times, it automatically answers. I hold my
conversation, and then when the other party has hung up, my bt-headset
goes back to beeing ready for the next call. My hands never tuch the
bt-headset after the initial on-switching in the morning.
Hope this helps.
Cheers, Frank
