I'm considering getting the above car kit fitted to my Avensis T4, I have
been looking on the net for dealers that fit them and one I have come across
is avrmobiles.co.uk. Does anyone have any experience of using this company
or does anyone have any other recomendations for carkits and installers?
Many thanks
Dave

I don't have experience with the car kit in question , but i have a
Parrot Easy Drive car kit ,, hooked to my razr v3 ,, it doesnt' work
badly considering that it's run through the lighter socket and has a wire
to the mic. ,, i'm on my second one right now as the first crapped out a
little after a month ,, after the company refused to replace it , Parrot
eventually came through ,,,though i am trying to get my duty payments
back ,,

The sound from this unit is very crisp on both ends ,, a little echo if
the mic is to close to the speaker , but otherwise not a bad little unit
for the lower end of their products ,,, i would've liked to get an
integrated one that doesn't have to be put into the light socket and have
the wire running over my dash to the mic ,, but you get what you can
afford right?

Might be worth having a go yourself, I fitted one to an MG ZT-t and it was
no more than 1/2hr to do. If you have ISO radio connections, It simply plugs
in, If not then I think its just a case of tapping into the correct wires.

I bought one for my wife's primera. You don't need an installer!!

It was simply a case of remving the radio - plug in the wires and drop
the "box" down the back of the radio. Trap the display stand in the
radio mounting and there you go! Took all of 30 minutes. The only
problem I had was the ISO wiring loom in the Primera was a little non
standard and I needed to swpa the perm live and ignition live fuse
tops round for perfect operation.

The Best suppliler I've found is www.mobiland.co.uk. VERY helpful -
parrot main dealer (importer) and will help with advise in case of any
problems. After some considerable time my "box" developed a problem
and they promplty sent me out a replacement - very good support and
aftersales.

Get back to me if you need more help on this.

It's dead easy if, as the guy in the other post said, the radio has ISO
connectors. My Toyota didn't so I had to cut wires but the Avensis is UK
built so probably will have.
There's guy advertise on E-Bay selling adaptor wiring for most cars without
ISO.

I'd also second the recomendation to mobiland - top notch service for
repairs and software upgrades.

Thanks for all your info guys. Unfortunately an installer is a necessity as
far I'm concerned otherwise I'd probably blow the car up. I really am that
bad at DIY

Shame - I'm in Lancashire - I'd fit it for you if you were nearer -
I'm between burnley and blackburn.

Its not a big job - expect to pay for about an hour's work.
