I am trying to pair my phone with a BT GPS unit which has a preset
pairing code only by letters (NAVMAN).
Does anybody know how can I send capital letters from the phone instead
of numbers as a code?
TIA
Blaise

Hit your # key a few times until you see the ABC in the top right
corner where you need to enter the code.

The views I present are that of my own and NOT of any organisation I

Thanks but that does not work. When I hit # the phone sends the code
right away.
The ABC in the top right corner does not appear in code sending mode.

You might try pairing to a pc and changing the pairing code to a
numerical entry. The GPS unit itself might have an option to change it
also.

Most BT devices use '0000' if it's not possible to change it.

I just checked my Bluespoon Spider to VX8600. After discovery, when
asked for the code, there is an option to change to lowercase alpha,
uppercase alpha and numeric. I get to it via '123' displayed on screen.

I don't know if this stuff helps or not but it's another straw to grab.

There is an island of opportunity in the middle of every
difficulty. Miss that, though, and you're pretty much doomed.
