Author redial last number

I've had a Bluetooth headset from Bluetrek for a few months now, and I've
figured it out except for one problem. It supports auto redial at a tap of
the headset, and I keep redialing numbers accidentally.

I'm deaf in one ear, and subsequently have to take the earpiece out
frequently. The problem is that I will occasionally bump it (I usually put
it in my shirt pocket and leave it on so I can use it to answer incoming
calls), and it automatically redials the last dialed number. It is
annoying to the friends to whom it happens, and it's burning minutes on my
phone unnecessarily.

I have on occasion shut the headset off, dropped it in my pocket, and
bumped it a few times (this while picking up groceries or simply reaching
for things), and have found that it will turn itself on (just a long tap,
like holding a sack against my chest) and then redial. It's like a bad
Stephen King movie sometimes, about a Bluetooth that got lonely and started
making its own calls.

I use a Sanyo Katana, which is compatible with two or three dozen different
bluetooth headsets from a variety of different manufacturers. What I NEED
is one that either does not support the redial at all (this is usually
connected with voice dial, which I also have no need for), or at least will
allow the feature to be shut off.

Does anyone know of a headset that does not support the voice dial and
redial functions?

TIA

Geo.

Hi,

I'm using a Cardo Scala 700. I pair it with a Moto Razr v3. It is
fairly resistant to bumps, plus it ships with a storage pouch you can
keep in a pocket or hang off your belt. I got it via Amazon.com and it
was very reasonable.

Thanks, and you probably meant the unspoken issue to be a given, but I want
to make absolutely sure. The Scala 700 does NOT allow the auto-redial,
right?

If you don't set it up in your cell phone then it won't redial. At
least with my RAZR the phone is the brains. If the phone doesn't
support the command the Scala 700 can't execute it. Another example: If
you don't go into setup and turn on voice dialing and subsequently set
up each number you want to have voice dial than you can tap the side
button on the headset as much as you want and say "Home" for
example...but nothing will happen because it hasn't been set up.

I've never used it, but I think that there's an anti-tamper setting
where none of the buttons on the headset will function until you release
the lock. It supports pairing with two different Bluetooth devices.
Default is for use with the right ear, but you can flip it
electronically to function with proper orientation for the left ear.

Check it out on Amazon.com You can get all the 411 there. Or, at the
Cardo home page:
