| If you click this link...
http://portal.alltel.net/alltel/por...cess/apps/games
....and then click on "Chat and Email", Alltel invites you to join
"UPOC Communities". I did, and it turned into a nightmare. Three
days after I joined some of their communities, someone sent a message
to a group I was in, and then UPOC started automatically sending me
that exact same message, over and over, every two to five minutes, 24
hours a day. I unsubscribed from every group that I was in, and
blocked the user that sent the original message; but still the same
message flooded in. If I was dialing a number, the message would pop
up, and make me delete it and start dialing the number again. If I
was on mobile web, the message would pop up and knock me off. My
phone became pretty much useless.
I complained to UPOC, but still the messages kept coming. I started
replying to the messages with very "nastygrams", hoping UPOC would
kick me out of the system, but they still kept coming. Then I called
Alltel, and was told that my software needed upgrading. Went to
Alltel today, and they said I already had the latest software.
Finally, after a couple hours at Alltel dealing with the service
manager and calling the Alltel tech support, it seems that they were
finally able to put a block on my phone to stop UPOC from turning my
phone into a paperweight.
I highly suggest that Alltel take the UPOC link off its website. I
sure wish that I'd never clicked it.
