Author New Phone, need BT headset

I drive a big rig and it is loud inside the cab. I just got a Nokia 6255i
phone from Alltel and they sold me the Motorola HS-820,

This combination does NOT work well in the truck. There is no vertical
adjustment and I guess that I have big ears, the speaker is above my ear
canal. Full volume is not enough in the truck unless I manually pull it
down and press it against my ear, then what is the point of a headset?

The other problem is that the boom on the mic is so short that it is inches
from my mouth and picks up the truck better than my voice.

So, I can't hear who I am talking to and they mostly hear the truck sounds.

Also, the Voice dial doesn't seem to work between Moto headset and Nokia
phone.

I think that I need a headset with an in-ear speaker, and a longer boom that
is closer to the mouth and less sensitive to background noise.

Any recommendations?

Thanks,

Kirk

There's lots of them. Just plug:
noise cancelling headset for cellular phones
into Google.com search engine. An awful lot of reviews say "The Boom" is
what you're looking for...lots of awards.

Larry,

Thanks, "The Boom" looks like it is wired. Looking for a BT one.

I doubt you'll find anything BT except a glitzy, noisy thing for teen
girls. Good luck.

Larry,

Well, most of what drives the cell phone market is glitzy teen age girl
flashy junk. Who really needs changeable faceplates, neon blue colors, low
res blurry cameras, FM radio, MP3, etc... Certainly not professionals doing
business on their mobile phone.

15 years ago, when I had my big 'ol Motorola "Brick Phone", I rarely worried
about a dropped call, or if I could make a call wherever I was. Now that
everybody has cell phones, you would think that reception would be better,
but digital is weak and many more towers are needed and coverage is worse.

If you can't sell people on good coverage to increase your subscriber base,
you have to add Glitz, Flash, Bling, etc...

Bluetooth is an addition that I actually think is a good thing. Been
searching for a good BT headset and can't seem to find it. The moto headset
that I tried was not adjustable at all. What is up with that? A $12 wired
Plantronics headset is adjustable.

I guess you are right, I just wonder why they don't build more functional
stuff.

Catering to business needs is what Nextel is all about. Wonder if they
have one that will fit your phone?
