There are all kinds of add on items on my bill and 'they say' they are
Fed and State required add on items. Some are taxes and others are
questionable. How do you know what's valid? Also, i was surprised to
find the new AT&T requires you have to pay in advance to get
consolidated billing.

Required to be paid by the carrier.
Not required to be added on to your bill.
But you pay for it either way.
If it's not itemized, it's just buried in the rate.
Carriers do this to be able to quote a lower rate.
It's a deceptive practice IMHO.
