It is alleged that Kurt claimed:

I'm currently averaging less than $10/month for less than 1MB a la
carte. My threshold for getting a data plan is two consecutive months
of $15 (1.5MB ) or more.

Media Basic at $10/month is the same rate per kB as a la carte, but
Media Works is $15 for 5MB plus 1 cent per kB over.

Messaging units are not a factor in my calculations, though I suppose
that since they're included with a data plan that I'll probably use
them if/when I get a data plan. :)

> over. Aren't they doing unlimited Medianet for $16?

There hasn't been an "Unlimited MediaNet" for quite a while. Looking
at the plan features page now, I see the above mentioned Media Basic
and Media Works, a Media Max 200 at $20/month for "unlimited" data plus
200 messaging units and a Media Max 1000, the same as the 200 but with
1000 messaging units, at $30/month.

And, I see those while logged into my Cingular account page which has
my correct phone (Treo 680) selected, so the selector system knows what
equipment I have. Actually, I'm finding it difficult to even +find+
the PDA Connect plan online...

Tips for evil cult members: 2. Familiarize yourself with the specs for
sacrificial victims, and make sure that unacceptable substitutes aren't
introduced into the ceremony. If the penalty for not-to-spec work is
death and/or mutilation, consider working for a more fault-tolerant
deity.

We'll have to see how it actually pans out, but as a longtime Mac user,
the iPhone looks spectacular. My contract is up in May and Cingular
won't let me upgrade until then.
