Sorry- this is not a part of the alt.cellular.attws charter. Your document
does not apply.

Where is the charter for alt.cellular.attws. Someone should post the
charter, otherwise the Charter that Mr Navas has been posting may apply.

Let's take a vote ... all those who think the Navas charter should apply to
Mij and Navas ONLY raise your hands.

I raise my hand :-)

Charters are written when the group is formed. Trying to apply a charter
from one group to another group is very strange indeed, but most of us
no longer are surprised by anything Navas does.

Thanks for the explanation. I was under the incorrect assumption that Mr
Navas had created the usenet group.

Only In his dreams.

But It's what he wants everyone to think.

Navas's wet dreams, that is.

You already knew [a long time ago] that he didn't create the group. Your
leading style of antagonism isn't pleasant.

He created alt.cellular.cingular, but had nothing to do with
alt.cellular.attws.

What happened is that he became extremely worried when AT&T decided to
change the name of their wireless service from Cingular to AT&T. He saw
what happened when T-Mobile changed the name of their U.S. wireless
service from Voicestream to T-Mobile. The
alt.cellular.gsm.carriers.voicestream group became dormant, and
alt.cellular.t-mobile became the active group.

Many people thought it strange that he came out so vehemently against
the creation of alt.cellular.t-mobile, because not only did no carrier
with the name of Voicestream exist anymore, the old name was unwieldy,
with two unnecessary layers of hierarchy.

The reason for his opposition was that he was worried that the same sort
of transition would occur from alt.cellular.cingular to alt.cellular.attws.

Technically, the alt.cellular.attws group was for AT&T Wireless, which
was a spinoff of AT&T, so you could argue that the new group for
Cingular should really be called alt.cellular.att, rather than
alt.cellular.attws, but practically speaking, it's better to just use
the existing attws newsgroup rather to create a new one. The problem for
Navas is that the attws newsgroup was not his creation. He is spamming
the alt.cellular.cingular charter into alt.celluar.attws in an effort to
claim "transfer" rights of his charter. It's similar to the Nextel
versus AT&T tiff in NASCAR, where AT&T wants to change Cingular to AT&T
on the car they sponsor, even though this is not permitted by the
Cingular contract with Nascar.

Everyone would prefer that he stop spamming, which is of course why he
continues spamming.

Tommy,

You are incorrect. I know that he created one of the cellular newsgroups.
You should get your facts straight before replying. I accept your apology.
