| Can someone help me understand the diff between the 20.00 unlimited Media
Net which says you can surf the internet, and the 40.00 PDA Unlimited?

Unlimited MediaNet allows unlimited web access from your handset. PDA
plan is for a PDA "handset". If you want to use a laptop tethered to
your phone handset, use the $59 unlimited data plan.
If you tether your handset to a laptop using the $20 unlimited MediaNet,
there is credible evidence that you may eventually be hit with a data
charge of hundreds of dollars

Of course you guys cannot post replies in threads without starting up
another huge debate where no one agrees and the group gets clogged up with
15 replies of not just you, but also John and some others going back and
forth with your smart XXX attitudes and attacks on whether the other poster
really has credibile evidence.
Its getting old. I wish y'all would grow up.

Those of us with clue continue to use it that way without such charges.
As I've pointed out before, your "credible evidence" (unverifiable anecdotal
report) was almost certainly a billing screwup (as happened to me), which
Cingular will correct if asked (as it did for me).

Bottom line, if you can't Google it, it ain't true. Guess its time to
scan some Cingular contracts and billing copies.

That's a good insight. Basically, Google has brought to everybody, and to
all subjects, the kind of verifiability that we used to get by doing lots of
work in big libraries.

While I said that "tongue-in-cheek", there is an incredible amount of
verifiable data on the 'Net. You have to use common sense and the "sniff
test" all the time. Its rather funny when you Google for a particular
phrase and you find it on dozens of website, you want to scream plagiarism.
But even if I did scan and post the billing and contract info, someone
(and I won't name names) will attempt to dilute it with "hogwash" and
say I doctored the scans.

Yes... There was somebody recently who made a study of the plagiarism rules
of various universities, looking them up on the Web, and the first thing
they found was that many of them seemed to be unacknowledged copies of each
other. :)
There is of course a lot of falsehood on the Net. But if something is
disputed, you can quickly find out about the dispute.
Just like a big library, but much faster!
