Copy ringtones and picture from one phone to another
|
|
|
| I'm retiring a Samsung x427m and using a new Samsung x495 which I bought on
eBay. (Moved the SIM card from one to the other, and it works fine.)
Can the local Cingular store (or somebody) copy my background picture and my
ringtone to the new phone?

|
| can't you put the sim back in the old phone>copy pics to the sim>put sim in
new phone >copy to phone. That's how I did my motorola.

I don't recall having that option on the Samsung, but it's worth a try!

| Ringtone no (Samsung may have software & cable) IF the ringtone is not
copywrited. You should be able to email the graphic file. The simplest way
would be to send it to another phone or email address, switch the SIM card
to the new phone, then send it back.

You can only copy the numbers on a sim card, the ringtones and pics have
to be switched threw the computer. the code readers at cingular do not
transfer anything but the numbers. you can send the pics to your new
phone using MMS messaging or email to your home computer then download
to the new phone. :) :smart:

How would I do that? Sorry, I've never sent an MMS message. I gather this
is a larger type of text message and that it does not require mobile
Internet access. Right?

instead of making a regular text message, choose Multi media message,
it will have the option of sending a picture that way
