Cingular cell phone service - samsung zx10 and gmail

When downloading or sending gmail with the embeded pop client i get a
"certificate validation failure" message. I am still able to send and
receive through gmail's servers but this message prevents it from
automatically downloading. Is there anyways to fix this?

Check for a phone WAP setting to turn off security.
