Hello Good Folks,

I bought my phone over the weekend from BestBuy. The ad shows it has an FM
Radio. Only to find out in the box it's not incuded. :( .. Is there anyway
to make a simple FM radio with the hands free speaker phone? Any suggestions
would be most helpfull...

(welcome to email me all together)

Nokia uses the headset as antenna, so they have put a lock in the
software making it impossible to turn on the FM radio without headset

Don't ask why. COuldn't they let us turn it on and THEN decide for
ourselves if the reception is to poor.

Say I really need to listen to a message or something on the radio and
have left my headset home, then it's impossible :-(

(hence I always have my headset in the pocket of my jacket)

For the vast majority of users, they would get nothing but static. A few
lucky people who live very close to the tower might get something, but
others would just be stuck confused.

Lars-Erik,

Does the FM radio work with ANY headset, or does it have to be the Nokia
headset for radio?

Does your phone have botht he 2.5mm _AND_ the pop-port connector? Which
connector does your headset use?

Thanks.

Jim

PS I have 6236i withVerizon.

Don't know :-) I guess it works if the phone detects a headset (car
hf is not working with radio). I can output the sound through the
build-in phone speaker, but the headset is still needed as antenna.

Only pop-port. It's a 6230i
