Author Already a Cingular Family Plan customer.

I'm a former AT&T and now Cingular customer for about 7 years now. I'm
on the 4000 min/month Family Plan, 19.95 unlimited data, 3 phones all
with the $4.99 text message plan. My question is, can I take advantage
of adding another phone/line with one of the online (Amazon.com/Buy.com)
Cingular deals since I'm a current customer? I'm also thinking about
jumping ship with this one phone/line for a Verizon Treo 700w w/wi-fi.
My currenit phone is a Audiovox 5600 and was thinking if I go Cingular,
add a Cingular (Audiovox?)2125. Amazon has this phone for free (after
rebate) with a free Motorola bluetooth headset. The Verizon way seems
easy. I'd just have to setup an account with them and get the $249 Treo
700w w/free bluetooth headset for $249 from them. Which phone is best? I
do a lot of email and web surfing. I like the idea of a QUERTY keyboard
and wi-fi.

Thanks for any input,

Scott

You can add another line and use a promotion for it...I have done
it....
You can even swap the phone numbers after activation.

Careful with that. There aren't enough specifics in here.

There was just a running thread about an existing Cingular customer _not_
being able to take advantage of the Amazon rebates.

Somewhere on that Amazon page, I read that you also cannot create a new
account and cancel a line from an existing account, which they regard as
showing that the new phone is being substituted for the old phone.

As for the phone, if you want the Querty & wifi you should be looking at
Cingular's 8125, although you can get a Bluetooth keyboard for the 2125.
