I want to use my v3 as an internet connection from my laptop ...I used MPT to make a connection but then it doesn't work ...what do I need to do here? v3 connects fine with wap and with operamini2 ...what am I missing here?

Being able to dialup a fax or a an ISP modem requires a feature called CSD.
Cingluar no longer offers CSD as a new option, but it does still exist.

You can also make a connection via GPRS to the internet via your carrier,
but it's not dialup. You can view the Cingular tutorial at

phone & device support
"Connect device and laptop/PDA to access internet"

With Cingular, this access can be purchased in packages of varying data
amounts, or pay as you go, for $0.01/KB.
