AT&T rewrites rules: Your data isn't yours
06/21/2006

AT&T has issued an updated privacy policy that takes effect Friday. The
changes are significant because they appear to give the telecom giant
more latitude when it comes to sharing customers' personal data with
government officials.

If AT&T wants to sell you out then turn about is fair play.

means that the company believes it has an unqualified right to do
almost anything with the data."

What does ATT have to do with Cingular? (Other than the ownership thing)

The article does not say much about it but I'd assume Cingular=AT&T
with regards to policy.

About the same thing Microsoft has to do with Windows, or Ford has to do
with Mustang, or GE has to do with NBC, etc

I don't get your comparison? Windows and Mustangs are products sold by a
company. The relationship of AT&T and Cingular is that it's one company
owning (or partially owning) another company. The GE and NBC comparison
makes a little more sense.
