That's not bait and switch.
People scream "BAIT AND SWITCH!" whenever something--ANYTHING--happens
that they disagree with. They hope to get stupid people to sympathize
with them simply by using the phrase.

He didn't say "bait and switch", he said "bait switch". As in, they're
trying to bait him into switching plans.

Well, I +almost+ said essentially the same as Elmo. Then I re-read the
Subject line.
btw, I think you will have to switch at some point. Others have said
that Cingular is declining to renew the old AT&TW contracts nor
allowing old AT&TW customers to devolve to a month-by-month usage.

Yea, mine runs out in October so we'll see.

So you got an ad in the mail trying to get you to try something new
and you threw it in the garbage. I do that every day. So what the hell

This one was from a vendor who i presently do business with throwing
carrots at me to change our agreement to a less than desirable service
then what I'm presently receiving.
Hardly the paper flyer offer of a 15 dollar lube job.

One day they'll become even more aggressive. They'll tell you that they are
shutting TDMA down, and that you must "Upgrade" at a higher price, or lose
all service from them, period.
That day is coming. The question for you to decide is, "Will you cave in to
them, or will you thumb your nose at them and favor another carrier with
your continued business?"

inclined to do so?
My post was on topic for the group.

And you don't get any of these from your cable provider? ISP? Landline
telco? Credit card company? Mortgage company? Or is the problem that the
offer came from the evil cellular provider?
I believe their primary goal is to make money.

people they bailed out when att dumped on them, that it is time to move

Seems my posting it to a newsgroup is beyond the bounds of you
ignoring it however.

Have your 14 year old teach you proper spelling and punctuation.

When you thrust your individual and utter stupidity in front of people,
don't blame them for seeing it.
We expect stupidity from companies trying to sell us things. That's dog
bites man. But when an individual goes blasting about like a demented
homeless person about "how DARE they send me something in the mail
asking me if I'd like to do something that's profitable to them!" then
that's man bites dog, and is worthy of comment.

Where in the hell am i whining? Idiot....
Just for the hell of it i was going to post a few of your older post's
where you seem to have nothing else in your life to do but to XXXXX
about cell phones/service.
I'd say there is life other than cell phones dude, but i also see that
you have an infatuation with big time wrestling as well.
I know, must be your 14 year old using your sign on.

Anyway, we all know what was written. It's there for everyone to see.
Care to see what you wrote?

You know what Elmo, I've read some of your post's in the past and you
seem somewhat intelligent and articulate. I've obviously either

At least they're no longer doing what the old AT&T Wireless used to do.
I would from time to time get letters in the mail from AT&T Wireless,
sporting what appeared to be an account number and stating "Your new
wireless account has been activated! Please call us at this number to
have your new phone shipped to you!"
This of course led me to believe someone was opening accounts in my
name. I called the number to say I *didn't* want any such account and
order it closed, only to get told "oh that letter means nothing!" and
then the rep launched into a hard sell song & dance about why I SHOULD
have such an account.
I hung up the phone before he could finish.
