Get around the charge to get my VM

| If I don't use the number embedded in speed dial 1, and just dial my
number (which puts me through to my VM, can I get this as a free call,
mobile to mobile?
Just kinda irks me that I have to pay to get my messages with
Cingular....

My VM shows as mobile to mobile on my bill, I don't think I've ever had to
pay for my VM.

Sprint PCS does this as well. I has never made sense to me. The only reason
they do this is so that they have the opportunity to make more money on
overages or people chosing larger rate plans to include their voicemail time.
It should be cheaper for them for you to check the voice mail on their system
than it is to talk between users phones and use the airtime on two accounts.
