Hello

I hope you can help me/us out.

First of all I would like to make my own wallpaper for my Motorola
cell.
Could somone please clue me in on size and format please.
Since I don't have cables to connect from computer to cell..
a site/service online I can send the pic to and then send to my
cell?

(Sorry... I'm such a newbie at all this.)

What about ringtones? Can I make my own? What format?
Any freeware suggestions to make the tone? Convert the tone?
Upload site to send to myself? (Another dumb question - sorry.)

I have read through many of the messages here that my news server
has...
sorry if I have missed the one or ones that would help me out.. but
I didn't see any.
I have looked online but so many charge for the tones and
wallpaper.

If you have any 'freeware' links to share.. that would be great
too.
Would love to have some free games for the grand kids... if you
know of a site for those
and how would I transfer... would be appreciated.

Or good links for cellular tips, Cingular info or Motorola tips.
NEWBIE SITES ;-)
I have read "http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/ Cingular_Wireless_FA
Q"
Thanks John

Thank you so very much for any suggestions!!!!!

Why? I thought is was okay to do this if..
questions are related to all groups.
Freeware, Motorola, Cingular, Ringtones.
Should I have added wallpaper group?

Thank you

Registration at Zedge is free and they will NEVER bother you. You can
always register with a phoney name and throwaway gmail address. I only
suggest this since they offer pretty much exactly what you want to do.
As for ringtones, just take your favorite CD's and convert what you want
to MP3. Mobile Phone Tools does that beautifully.

Thank you again.
I found these "Mobile Phone Tools" but not freeware.
bvrp.com :-( Any freeware? What about wallpaper?
I'd like to make my own (like a family picture) but don't know the
size or how to get it sent to my phone.

On 22 Jul 2006, you wrote in alt.cellular.motorola:

Look Here for ringtone help.

Upload file to this site then download to your phone.

But as suggested you might look into software solution and a data cable. I
personally use mobile edit.

As for wallpapers size depends on your phone. Google is your friend.

Not necessarily. The OP correctly posted to the multiple groups
simultaneously, allowing newsreaders to show the message in the first
group viewed and removing it from the other groups, so the human
reader sees it only once. The groups selected seem appropriate to the
topic. My only complaint would be the subject; it's better to state
what the question is rather than the mere fact that the poster has a
question.

Drop it back to the two I replied to. I've never seen that freeware
before. IMHO you should stick to MPT, you can buy it for about $30 at

But unless you're willing to get a cable, nothing and no one is going
to be of much help. With connectivity there's a pretty trivial
program you can run to change things in most Motorola phones,
ringtones, wallpaper, turn on and turn off graphics, audio levels (the
8 steps you have are on major step 4 - there are 8 major steps), all
sorts of things - Motokit 1.06.

You can download it from<http://www.webdingers.com/Motokit106.zip>

You'll also want a picture of the language menu, since it defaults to
Chinese <http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=555134> This
will show you which menu to pull down, and which choice to make, to
change the default to English.

If you want to make your own ring tones then use the following software:

Audacity
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

It's free and can be used to take snippets of your favorite songs to be used
as ring tones. It seems to be very easy to use.

Audacity is very good, but the tricky part is picking encoding
parameters that are compatible with your phone, something Audacity
doesn't do automatically.
