| Check out the pix and specs of 4 new Motorola phones due out by year end
at www.motorola.com.
Coming Soon: MotoKRZR, MotoV3XX, MotoRIZR and my personal favorite of
the foursome, the MotoRAZR MAXX. I read about the SCPL too but it's not
on the site yet.
The MAXX is officially on Santa's list for me. Like I do just about
every year, I expect to shell out $600 for one of the first ones out of
Hong Kong. Oh well, it's my only vice.

What really caught my eye about at least some of the new Motorola phones
is the EPD (Electrophoretic Display) technology on the low end models like
the FONE. Supposedly these are very readable under all lighting
conditions. I'm tired of high-end phones that can't be read in direct
sunlight, and have wondered why so few models use transflective displays
like the V6xx or, for example, my GPS navigator unit. Is EPD the answer?
What are the disadvantages? Do any of the mid and high end phones used
this?

Disadvantages of EPD include slow response time, and poor reflectivity
of full color because the need for color filters.
