best Cingular phone for battery life

| I will be switching from Verizon soon mainly because most of my friends
have moved to Cingular and I want to get mobile-mobile minutes. Luckily
I rarely have to go to rural areas.
I was curious what is the best phone for battery life(must have a
speakerphone). The new ericson 525 is listed as 12 hours talktime--how
can that be! Thanks.

Don't pay much attention to such ratings -- there are no standards for
such claims, which are based on ideal conditions that aren't
representative of the real world. If you really care about battery
life, look for a phone that can take an extended (thicker) battery.
