Author Is Cingular having some type of outage?

I bought a ringtone today and (after 3 hours) it still hasn't been sent to
my cell phone.

My online bill says there is a delay in posting data charges to my account
and I should look at the bill again in 5 days.

Is anyone aware of problems with Cingular's web site?

Further, this morning, trying to view my bill on line, I get:

"Because this is a new account, your first bill is not yet available and
will be displayed ten days after the end of your billing cycle."

Falsch. The account is something like 4 years old and I have viewed bills
on line many times before.

Also, the ringtone I bought from their web site yesterday never arrived and
I've put in a problem report about it.

Yesterday, Tech support told me that they had "issues that affected email
and account access in most of the South east."
However, after talking with them, I was able to access my email and account
info. So, maybe you need to 'bite the bullet' and
go through the drill of calling cs. Eventually, they will let you talk with
'tech support'.

Cingular has been merging all of the many billing systems it's inherited
over the years. That might be the cause of your problem; i.e., your
account might be new to the billing system it's now on.

And just how long does "merging" take!
I have had nothing but problems with online account access for all of my
lines for 2 years now.

That is an incomplete and misleading answer. A conversion of billing
platform take seveal months to complete for the entire customer base, but an
individual subscriber is converted in a matter of hours. And only the most
mismanaged companies would allow something along the lines of what is being
discussed here to go unnoticed in either the test environment or UAT. They
would also patch the problem until next release, which is typically about
every month during a conversion of this size (unless they take the stupid
route and try to use something right out of the box). And according to my
Cingular sources, there has been no recent conversion and they are mid-cycle
between releases. There is no reason for this to suddenly break.

However, I do see where this is going. Novice is going to blame all
customer complaints on billing conversion. After all, he's been exposed as
a newbie with everything else he has tried to blame.

Then how do you explain the 2 years I have experienced the issue?
You remember..., the part of my original post you snipped out in your
inaccurate response.

So do I. Navas will say your sources are anecdotal and unverifiable, and
therefore cannot be used as a valid explanation. Oh wait...didn't he use
the same type of sources to prove one of his points?
