Wi-Fi and RFID Convergence
Technology is based on active RFID systems that uses the same frequency
as Wi-Fi networks,allowing
end users to capitalize on existing infrastructure for wireless data
networks.Not only does this
reduce the overall implementation cost, also increases the advantages of
location services..

That is only active RFID, which is NOT where the RFID revolution is taking
place. Passive RFID in the supply chain is where all the potential is and it
won't mature for another decade with current reader technology and the
expensive of passive RFID tags.
