Author 8125 battery use

Recently bought the 8125 and am generally pleased.
The only potential knock I have is battery life. Documentation shows
150-200 hours of standby. By experience, I have gone ~20-25 hours,
received one phone call, made 2 phone calls, received 5-7 text messages.
At this point the battery is down to ~15%. This seems like a fast
drain on the battery. Is this normal for the 8125? Anything I can do
to gain battery life?

This is pretty much normal for most cell phones. Quoted specs are for
operation in ideal (strong signal) conditions. In the field not near a
tower, transmit power is boosted for greater range, which depletes the
battery more rapidly.

p.s. To increase battery life, turn off any power consuming features
(e.g., Bluetooth) you don't need.

Make sure IR is turned off (on by default) this drains the battery pretty
quick.

Also make sure any programs not needed are closed (not minimized)
