My phone runs Windows Mobile (5.0?). Anyways, the phone is
supplied with some factory provided animated GIF files,
but I have no idea how to view and RUN the animated
GIFs. What do I need to do in order to animate GIFs on
Windows Mobile?

- Thanks!

I didn't see any animated GIFs preloaded... I download a few from the
web and loaded them into the phone. The default image viewer only shows
the first frame.

It appears the default image viewer that comes with Mobile 5.0 doesn't
support animated GIFs, but you can easily assoicate image types with
other viewers, I tried IE and apparently it's not designed to display
single image files or it's not designed to pull files off the device
this way because it doesn't work.

So it looks like you'll need some third-party application to view them.

I finally found a way to view/play GIFs on my Cingular 8125 which runs
Windows Mobile. Here is the procedure:

1) Press "Start" menu
2) Select "Pictures & Videos" from menu
3) Select any animated GIF from your phone and press "View"
4) Select the "Send" option in the lower left corner
5) Select "MMS" from the account options
6) On the bottom of the screen, press the small green "Play" button

That should do it!
