Here's a thread we need here. Cingular is really pushing their new SIM
cards, however, there's no good way of finding out if they work with your
trusty old phone, or if you'll have to settle for their 'free' bottom of the
line, bare bones, crumb bum phone new phone they'll kindly offer if you just
agree to another 2 year contract.

I figure a phone will work with a new SIM if it'll start up normally, make
an outgoing call, and accept an incoming call.

I have tested these phones, and they work as well if not better with the new
SIM:

Sierra Wireless VOQ Smartphone - Unlocked
Samsung S307
Samsung E350 - Unlocked

If you find another, please list it.

How about a shorter list.

DO NOT put a 3G SIM card in an LG 1500. The phone will constantly crash, say
"insert SIM" and not display the text message or VM icons correctly.

DO NOT put a 64 K SIM card (2 or 3 G) in a Motorola T720. The phone book
will be AFU.

There was a high end Nokia that didn't work with 64K cards either (I forget
the number) It would constantly power on/off.

Basically if your phone was manufactured before Cingular bought ATT
Wireless, don't use the 64K SIM cards. They are incapable of using ENS
which is why the 64 K cards were produced. There is NOTHING the card can do
for your phone and it may cause your phone to do weird things.
