1000 apps on iPhone by Oct. 14, 2008. That's your claim.

Tick tock.

Shouldn't be too hard, if you count the webapps. Just like the "tens of
thousands" of apps available for Palm, WinMo and Symbian, 95% will be
amateurish, bug-ridden, or of "Hello World" caliber (many all of the
above!), but the other five percent might be pretty darn useful.

My Treo often had bug-ridden bad apps.
Which is why I was happy that Apple was controlling apps for the iPhone.
I want stuff that works. I don't want to spend my time troubleshooting.

Then buy apps from trusted vendors or based on good reviews. This is yet
another case of "Apple knows best." I don't need (or want) my carrier or
phone vendor to hold my hand.

Sheesh! Why didn't Apple just sell this thing in a big black and yellow
box labeled "Smartphone for Dummies?"
