AT&T 8525 - Wi-Fi Hack

i just bought the 8525 and am trying to use the wi-fi feature on it.
its kind of annoying that i have to pay ATT to use a feature on the
hardware of the phone for MY OWN WIRELESS NETWORK. Supposedly, the 8525
connects through a different network and then the information is
filtered through the GRPS network. Anyone know how to bypass the latter
so i can use the wi-fi capability of the pda for free?

That WOULD be anoying, if it were true.

No, it doesn't. If your connection settings are set properly
(Start/Settings/Connections (tab)/Connections/Advanced/Select Networks
your phone should automatically use WiFi first, then fallback to AT&T
data if WiFi isn't available.

It's always free- if you're being charged, it's not using WiFi.
Checkout the smartphone or AT&T forums at HowardForums.com for specific
instructions for your model.

Todd's got it right, btw, and my 8925 Tilt works the same way.
