| I have a Razr phone that the camera is not working properly. I have another
deactivated Razr previously used by a friend on Cingular. Can I just swap
the SIM cards or do I have to go to ATT and have them activate the new phone
at some charge?
Thanks

Unless there's a intra-provider locking issue (I'm assuming your
account is on Cingular) I think you sb able to just swap the SIM
cards.
If you're keeping your phonebook on the phone, that might be a
good time to copy it to the SIM card.

But you would then probably lose much useful information.
Probably better to sync it.

I put my SIM card in the recently disconnected phone and it doesn't come up.
Says searching for network.
Both phones are from Cingular / ATT.
I off loaded all the phone book stuff to my PC and then downloaded it to the
"new" phone using Moto Phone Tools.
So this exercise means I have to go into ATT and have them turn on the "new"
phone? Are they going to charge an activation fee even though I have an
active account?
Thanks.

Sounds like there's a hardware problem in the phone, or (more unlikely) an
incompatibility between the phone and SIM (is it is a new SIM that has
never been used in the old phone?)

No- AT&T is GSM- they don't "activate" phones- just SIMs. I've used any
number of GSM phones from different carriers on each other and never had to
"activate" one- you just stick the SIM in.

I'm afraid the old RAZR needs repair or replacement- not activation.
