Author Text message double spacing?

Forgive the cross post please

When I send someone a text message from my home computer to their cell phone
it shows up as double spacing on their cell phone even though it is single
spaced on my computer. How can I correct this? It makes it very difficult
to read and causes the message to be split into two text messages because of
the extra length.

Help please... Agunat

How are you sending it? Via web? Via e-mail?

I believe the email does use the web. I am sending from my home
computer to an address of phonenumber@mobile.mycingular.com

Ok.. You're using an e-mail client then.

What e-mail client?

Make sure everything related to HTML or Rich text is disabled.

Text email sent from the Google Mail web interface to that gateway
arrives on my cell phones properly formatted.

Note: The preferred gateway is NUMBER@CingularME.com

It was the HTML. I changed it to text & everything was fine.
